What is a bonus code?
Entering a code such as the ones in the table above offers players incentive when they make a deposit to play at their card room. First time depositors have different codes than regular players do on these sites. Regular players are offered promotional bonus codes for reloading their accounts called a "reload bonus".
For first time depositors, the bonus code incentive is usually a 100% of your initial deposit up to a specific limit. For example. At Full Tilt Poker, if your first time deposit is $600, they will match the amount 100%. If you deposit $50, they will match it 100%. If you deposited $800, their bonus match limit is still $600. You would receive a $600 bonus for an $800 deposit. The bonus dollars are deposited into your bonus account with the site.
For regular players, promotions to reload your account are usually offered at a percentage of subsequent deposits to your initial one. For example, you may receive notice here that regular players at Ultimate Bet will receive a 25% match. These promotions are often time-sensitive, meaning that the bonus code is valid and must be entered between a specific start date and end date only.
